It has been two years since Link saved princess Zelda from the evil Vaati. He had broken the seal by drawing the four sword, a magic blade that created three copies of him. He and his three clones, who went by the names Green, Blue, Red, and Purple based on their tunics, fought against the darkness that Vaati had spread across Hyrule. They managed to seal him inside the four sword with Zelda's help. Their task complete, they returned the Four sword two it's home, a hidden shrine far from civilization. The moment the blade rested in it's home, their bodies became one. Green link, the courageous original, returned home.
Two years have past, and Link has lived a rather simple life. Now a Knight of Hyrule, He protects Zelda from any danger. She still vanishes from time to time, most of the time to check the seal. Link accompanies her on these journeys, and on those times she just vanishes. This story starts during one of those times.
OK! Now that the prolouge is over, I'd like to formally introduce my four swords fan fiction! Unlike how you might guess, I have a idea! Instead of just ME writing this, I'd like to propose a partnership! Me, and up to four-five others, shall take the roles of the links/villain! The open places will be the four links, the villain, and heck, ZELDA! Each person that wants to participate will claim a character, and only ONE character. each one has it's own personality as canon, though Zelda and the Villian are clean slates.
I'm gonna put up a list of the open characters and taken. Oh, and since I know more than 5 people will want to join, I'm gonna make extra ones on request. This means that once one is full, someone send me a PM if they want to join one. This new one will have an identical backstory, but the actual story that results will be a whole new creature!
Green Link, the courageous and determined one.-Kitsune.
Blue link, the smart and calm one. -Link
Red Link, The short tempered and violent one.
Purple link, the shy and whiny one.
Princess Zelda, the tomboy princess. -Skull Kid.
Oh yeah, rules...
A minimum of FOUR lines. Not four sentences, four lines as they would appear as the reader. This may be a lot, but just roll with it.
No spam: plain and simple. Spam will be deleted, and the spammer will be reported to a mod/admin.
Try to keep with others, and if you have a big plan, discuss it in PMs. Participates really should discuss things in PMs anyway, to keep with continuity, but you don't have to.
Besides that, have fun, and don't poke the cucco!
I'll start, since we need a point to begin!
Link
"Princess? Shouldn't we be visiting the seal today?" She out of the castle, Her gloved hand holding mine. She turned back to me, a glowing smile on her face. "Come on Link, we never get to leave the castle! I have visited the shrine every month for two years, I don't think anyone will do anything." Dang it. Why can't I argue with her? "Your probably right. Where to Princess?" She froze, glaring at me.
"Come on Link, I've told you before! Call me Zelda when we're alone!" She smiled again, heading off toward town. A shiver ran up my spine, my own voice speaking in my head. 'Who are you? What are you doing? NO!'
I sighed, looking into the distance. A small forest road wound into the distance, a path we had taken many times in the past two years. The shrine was at the end, protected by a enchantment the royal family had put up long ago. The plain steel blade against my back clanked against my shield, for a second I missed the strange light weight of the four sword. Even if it did come with three other mes who couldn't stop arguing to save their life. I sighed, Zelda taking my hand again. A smile crept onto my face, holding onto my hat so that the sudden wind didn't blow it away. Another shiver went down my spine, Zelda froze.
"Oh no."
?
'Foolish Princess. Did they actually believe is pathetic a spell could stop anyone?' I swept my sword through the invisible wall, shattering it. A black wind swept through the forest, a shiver running down my spine. Rage roared through me, squashing the feeling. The air of this pathetic shrine hung still, light filtering through the trees. A gleaming sword stood alone in a pedestal, cracked carving behind. A smile crept on my face, my hand wrapped around the leather hilt.
Shadows crept from the base of the pedestal, collecting in the air. A round glob of darkness formed, a single eye opening in the center. "Who has released me?!" It spoke, from somewhere even I didn't know. "You've finally proven your worth pawn. Now I shall return this world to darkness, Link shall not defeat me again!"
"I think not. I am your pawn no longer!"
"Who do you think you are? Dark Link, do you dare defy your creator!" Vaati's eye tightened into a glare, shadows gathering around him.
"You promised me power! You promised me control of Hyrule! And what do I get? Imprisoned in that cursed mirror, doomed to rot in darkness!" I threw off my cloak. Old wounds ached, black blood pouring from slashes in my tunic. "This is what I got! No more! I'm the master now!" I flung my hand out, my sword appearing my hand. Perfect image of the blade barely stuck in the pedestal, the shrine's light dulled. Vaati took the threat with a glare, his shadowy tendrils spreading out. I sliced off a pair the black tentacles, jumping into the air. Shadows covered my empty hand, forming a giant gauntlet. I grabbed his wing, slamming him into the ground.
Waves of shadow flowed from the sancutary, golden light flowing from Zelda to protect us. "Be careful Link, you don't have the four sword to protect you." Stone came into view, a terrifying sight met us. Dark Link stood Vaati, his sword planted into his eye. Vaati uttered a final moan, fading into a black wisp. Dark Link's blade absorbed it, fading away. He smiled before bursting into horrifying laughter. Shadows blazed around him, his wounds fully healed. The shadows settled around him, midnight spiked armor forming around him. A clone of the Four sword sat on his back, though spiked and grotesque.
"Link! Get the sword!" Zelda shouted, a bow of light forming in her hand. Dark Link caught the blazing light arrow, snapping it in his hand. I jumped at him, sword whistling through the air. He caught it between two fingers, flipping me over him and blowing me back. I rolled, hand catching something as I came up. A farmiliar feeling filling me. Agony filled my body, vanishing just as suddenly as it started.
"Dang it Green, could you be any slower?!" A voice shouted in my ear, Fiery red tunic and hat the only difference from me! He had a sword in his hand, deflecting a blast without even looking.
"I thought he did pretty good, seeing as how he didn't have us with him." Another Link sighed, dusting off his blue hat.
"HOLY CRAP WHAT IS THAT?!" The last Link, wearing purple attire, pointed at the morphing Dark Link.
"Tch, you aren't worth my time. Enjoy your role for now Princess, because Hyrule has a new king, Dark Link!" He vanished in a swirl of shadows.
"Well Link... Links. Aren't you going to stop him?" Zelda asked, her golden bow fading away. She leaned against a tree, eyes drooping slightly. I rushed over, throwing her arm over my shoulder. She waved me away, standing on her own.
"Zelda, we need to get you home." Blue said, holding a hand out to her. She shook her head, looking at where Dark Link had vanished.
"I'm not some wimpy Princess who can't protect herself. I'm going with you this time." Fire blazed in her eyes, I sighed.
"Fine, you can come. But..." Purple had his hands behind his back, an awkward look on his face.
"What is it?"
"You need new clothes." He said shyly. I couldn't help it, I laughed. Thing was, every time I thought back on our adventure, I could only think of the annoyances. Now that they were back, I actually remembered the FUN I had!
"Come on Green, get in the game! We're leaving!" Yeah... Red would take some getting used to again.
And that's it! Anyone who wants to join, go ahead and post!
